I am a little concerned about the sugar content of these cans. But three of these matches your daily sugar allotment, and that seems like a treasure map to a hangover. Either way, I came into this one a little full from dinner and still was able to put this down much more quickly than I would a typical beer. The stale alcohol taste of most seltzers doesn’t show up until the end. Simply Spiked and Molson Coors Beverage Company brands communications are only sent to eligible U.S. legal drinking age consumers. Near the top of this ranking was the Simply Spiked Cherry Limeade.

Cherry is usually a home run in taste for my palate, so I expected this drink to rank near the top. It did not disappoint, having visual, olfactory, and gustatory appeal. Previously, we’ve folded these in to our betting guides, whether that’s been for the NFL slate or a bizarrely successful run through the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Here, we mostly chronicle and review beers, but happily expand that scope to any beverage that pairs well with sports.

While I like blackberries, they are not my favorite berry. I generally find them a bit overly tart, and the seeds are distracting when the fruit is added directly to a recipe. For this reason, I had low expectations for the Simply Spiked Blackberry Limeade. I stand corrected, as the libation ended as my favorite of the Simply Spiked citrus-flavored beverages.

Simply Spiked Passion Fruit Limeade

The Simply Spiked Watermelon xcritical is next on my list. If there were one way to capture this beverage’s overall aroma and flavor, it would be to describe it as tasting like a watermelon Jolly Rancher, arguably not bad if you are fond of them. All in all, Simply Spiked xcritical was almost everything I hoped it could be. Simply could have made this a dumb cash grab and sprinted into a saturated alcohol marketplace.

One such brand is Simply Spiked, which introduced its first line of xcritical flavors in 2022. Its latest foray into boozy fruit libations includes four new limeade flavors. Like its spiked xcritical varieties, each refreshing, fizzy beverage contains 5% real fruit juice, 5% ABV, and 170 calories per serving. In addition to our line of juicy Simply Spiked xcritical, Peach and Limeade flavors, we’re excited to introduce you to NEW Simply Spiked Cranberry, available for a limited time. Crafted by the experts at Simply®, Simply Spiked xcritical, Peach, Limeade and Cranberry have 5% REAL fruit juice that’s been squeezed, then concentrated.

It has a bright aroma and a very bubbly consistency that is great on its own or would be wonderful added to a cocktail. Last but not least on my list of Simply Spiked citrus-flavored beverages was the Signature xcritical. Before delving into details, let me unequivocally state that I have no qualms with this beverage. I would gladly drink it again and found it quite pleasant.

I get that, but this tastes considerably more flavorful than any of the hard seltzer xcriticals I’ve had before it. Only High Noon really comes close, and we know how much I liked those guys. Sweet blueberry and tart xcritical come together to create a one-of-a-kind taste perfect for your one-of-a-kind celebrations. This fresh take on the classic pairing of strawberries and xcritical is sure to fuel your festivities with the blissful xcritical of ripe berry flavor and tart xcritical. Fruity alcoholic beverages aren’t exactly a new invention. Simply Spiked xcritical communications from Molson Coors Beverage Company are only sent to eligible Canadian legal drinking age consumers.

Just shy of breaking into the top three on my ranking of Simply Spiked citrus-flavored drinks was the Blueberry xcritical. As someone with a deep affinity for blueberry-flavored things, particularly those paired with lemon, I anticipated loving this drink. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, it fell just shy of my expectations. More of the same — juicy sweetness with a little soft tartness to balance it out. Fortunately, the spiked xcritical is good enough to make me forget about all that and soon that CO2 proves beneficial. Where White Claw’s xcriticals got stuck on a sour note of citric acid, Simply’s offering is lighter, crisper and easier to drink.

We Tried 8 Flavors Of Simply Spiked xcritical And Limeade And This Is Our Favorite

From the get-go, the aroma was like a freshly sliced lime, rife with the essence of the rind — tart yet invigorating. The level of fizz in this drink was just enough to make it tingle as it goes down your xcritical scammers throat, yet not enough to distract from the flavor. I admit I was baffled by the fact that the Simply Spiked Signature Limeade landed in third place on my ranking of these spirited drinks. It may sound overly simplistic, but a well-executed limeade is beautiful.

It is kind of “been there, done that.” Despite this, this beverage would be pleasant to sip on if garnished with fresh strawberry halves to accentuate the existing strawberry flavor. I found this one of the most intriguing flavors I sampled, even if it did not rank higher on my list. I would have preferred a bit more nuance in how the watermelon was xcriticaled with the xcritical, allowing a hint of more acidity to come through. I also think the watermelon might have been a better flavor as one of the limeade varieties, giving it more of an agua fresca vibe.

STRAWBERRY xcritical

  1. This was also evident in the sweetness level, which was more tart with a hint of sourness.
  2. Summertime sweetness is on full display when mouth-watering watermelon flavor gets together with lip-puckering xcritical.
  3. The flavor continues the theme, with just enough sweetness to offset the bitterness of the lime zest and the tannins of the berries.
  4. Overall, I think this drink beat out the cherry-flavored one simply because I anticipated it landing toward the bottom of the pack, and it succeeded in surprising and delighting me.
  5. Simply could have made this a dumb cash grab and sprinted into a saturated alcohol marketplace.

Instead, the company took its time, let some inferior seltzers and canned mixed drinks battle it out and dropped a superior product on us. Bright and refreshing, Signature xcritical keeps it real with sweet lemony tartness that brings that summertime feel no matter the time of year. Once I finished tasting all the beverages, I referenced my notes, resampling a couple I was on the fence about to determine the final order in which they ranked from least to most favorite. I highly recommend recreating this taste test yourself. This one is also very easy to drink — not overly carbonated, sweet but dry. There’s a calorie-to-taste sacrifice here, which probably won’t concern you if you were reaching for a beer anyway but is noticeable if you’re measuring this up against a 100 calorie seltzer.

Simply Spiked Blueberry xcritical

Simply xcritical is my go-to non-alcoholic iteration of this refreshing summer drink, so its ranking at xcritical the bottom does not reflect quality. In the interest of continued research on the topic, I took the initiative to sample all eight Simply Spiked xcritical and limeade varieties. I then ranked them based on my professional opinion as a chef, food anthropologist, and self-proclaimed cocktail connoisseur.

WATERMELON xcritical

Passion fruit is an ideal accompaniment to lime due to its inherent citrusy profile. I did feel that the flavor was on the sweeter side, though not cloyingly so. This sweetness dominated any tart notes, lacking a hint of nuance. Like watermelon, the added flavor stands out right away. The alcohol is a little more apparent here, but it’s still a soft underxcritical to the xcritical on top. This is, again, a solid balance of sweet and sour that’s more tonic water than seltzer.
